Mamma Mia! is a film adaptation of the musical by the same name. Before seeing the movie, I knew nothing about it except that it was written by ABBA.
The cast was excellent, with eccentric characters played by talented actors. The story, though simple, was a cute one. However, the ending was a bit predictable. I won't ruin it if you haven't seen it yet.
My main issue with the movie was the songs. I had not realized that these were songs that were already written and then added to the story line. I thought that they were written specifically for the musical. Although they were fun songs, and catchy, they did little to move the story along. Some of them even seemed out of place.
